Blog Journal 3- ELA

Looking at the ELA standards for grades 9-10 I think the ones I would feel most comfortable utilizing are some websites such as wordhippo and wordsmyth. Websites such as these are very simple to use but would also be extremely helpful for me a well as students because I want to teach english. On top of this, I have used some design websites such as Pixlr and digital media standards such as this one can be useful for creating visuals such as handouts or even newsletters. The standards I would most likely struggle with most would be the quantitative ones such as excel or tuva. I also do not see myself using these as often because I will be teaching english but becoming familiar with them will be helpful. One of the resources in CPALMS tools I think I would use most is the Lesson Study Support System. This tool allows for a lot of collaboration and team work between teachers. With our criteria these days heavily relying on standardized testing, a program such as this one could be so use...

Blog journal 2- Technology Implementations

Most of my experience in Microsoft Word comes from writing essays. As a student, this is the main way I have had to use Microsoft Word. Teacher wise, Microsoft Word has been really helpful to me as a student. The most useful I have seen Microsoft Word used is for making templates for notes. As a student, this put me in an extremely awkward position between my peer and my instructor. In my own experience and moral however, I have been taught about citing sources in MLA format since the seventh grade. I am always careful to cite websites, books, photos, and m...

Blog Journal 1- social native

As teachers these days, we are almost expected to orbit our curriculum around our students who orbit around technology. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. One thing that influences teachers and students to use technology in the classroom is just the overall outside world and the way we live now. The reality of it is, is that many workplaces are transitioning to become paperless and we can almost see this shift in the education community as well. The ISTE standards include empowered learner, digital citizen, knowledge constructor, innovative designer, computational thinker, creative communicator, and global collaborator. The one that I can resonate with most is being a creative thinker. This always helps to plan lessons and teach people using creative analogies or designs to keep students interacted. One of them I personally need to work on would be becoming a computational learner. Although it is easy to incorporate technology into my lessons, it is hard to fully indulge one...
