Twitter is great so far! Originally I did not think I could see myself using it much in a classroom setting, however I now see it can be more helpful than I thought. One thing you can really get from twitter is the fact that you can see the perspective of other teachers. Twitter in exchange, allows for you to share your own personal ideas and actually makes you feel excited to share them. Even if you are not sharing for likes or retweets, it allows for a space to document your thoughts and ideas. The only thing that can be difficult is thinking of the correct clear wording for certain things, however it has been great so far. The web design has been my favorite thing we have done so far in this class. I truly enjoyed creating the website and I can see how it can keep not only my students,  but also me as a teacher organized one day. One new skill I acquired was creating the google calendar. Some of my teachers have used these in the past, however I have never kept one personally....

IPL #1

Link: https://play.kahoot.it/#/k/5af81b7c-b3f4-4441-9357-279a74aea9a4 For my first IPL, I decided to create a Kahoot. I have been leaning towards wanting to teach the subject of psychology recently so I created a Kahoot of some basic psych concepts. Kahoot can be a great way to implement technology into the classroom because students use their phones to connect to and access the game. It is also great because the teacher can implement teams in which students can share ideas in the process of answering the question. The questions are also timed, so it adds some incentive and excitement to the game. Kahoot can be an amazing tool when teachers are reviewing for tests. It keeps students engaged and allows for interaction amongst students. It can also provide a lot of feedback for the teacher to know what students are understanding and retaining and what they are not.

Blog Journal 6- Teacher websites

For this assessment I used my old high school's webpage. Their webpage was always very easy to maneuver and the layout was overall clear. On the homepage, they include a "faculty and staff" tab in which instructors, the subject they teach, and their email and website are listed in columns. One thing about Buchholz, is that teachers were not required to maintain a website, so many of the website columns are empty. However, the teachers who do keep up webpages often include important and useful information publicly for parents and students on these pages. One thing about teacher websites is they allow for backup in case paper handouts are lost. It also gives parents access to info such as the syllabus and important curriculum, supplies, and teacher contact information. School: Buchholz high school Grades: 9th-12th Subject: English 3, 11th grade -Tabs at the top of course calendar and contact information After visiting the technology sandbo...

Blog 5- diigo & web 2.0

My experience with diigo was that I overall found it a useful tool. One really good way to learn is through sharing ideas and findings. With diigo, it allows for you to see what websites your peers are posting about and what they think about it. Another thing I really liked about it was how easy it was to share a webpage once you include the extension on your browser page. It can overall really narrow down some of the best tools as suggested by other teachers and the way the website organizes the information makes diigo an easy website to use. I think the only thing I was not completely partial to was the way it can let the same website be posted multiple times. In this was, it can get repetitive. Overall, I like blogging but I think a blogging website is overall better used for different subjects. I personally look at blogging as more of a creative expression rather than an outlet to comment or review certain things. I think blogging can be a useful educational tool, but I think it ...
