The flipped classroom is intended to be an educational technique in which a lot of classroom materials and in class information may be available online to the student to access ahead of class or just whenever. With this, class becomes the designated place to work through problems and concepts that students did not understand on their own. In this way it is almost like instruction is done at home and homework is done in class; hence the title of flipped classroom. Overall, this concept is risky and it puts a lot of emphasis on individual student responsibility. This could be a very positive or very negative thing. For teachers, the ability to integrate instruction outside of the classroom and in it becomes essential because there will always be certain topics that students can not teach themselves. I feel as though the flipped classroom approach can be extremely effective for certain students, but others struggle with time management and the dedication it would take to actually read the lessons ahead of time.
Open educational resources are pretty self explanatory by the title as they are basically resources, such as media, audio, or text, that are open and available to the public and can be very useful for educational purposes. They often exist to provide alternate or innovative teaching strategies, possibly such as a flipped classroom approach. An example of an OER could be a video of a lesson on youtube. Things as simple as these can help give teachers ideas of essential material, and are also available to students at the touch of a button. I know I have used these in the past when I am not grasping a lesson and it has always helped to see an alternate perspective from an online video.

The 2 recent powerpoint projects were actually a little but more difficult than I was expecting them to be. I actually really enjoyed the first one as it could be on any topic and that made it more interesting to complete. However, assignment 5 was a little bit more strenuous. I created a jeopardy as a psychology class review and it took quite a while. However, I do see how these skills are useful in creating a dun and interactive review game for students and it is definitely something I see myself using in the future. One of the new skills I acquired was just linking the different slides using shape inserts. The main thing I did not like about assignment 5 was the time it took to create it, however I think becoming more fluent and comfortable with powerpoint will help with that over time.
